Rohan gains 46 Elo rating points

PANAJI: Rohan Ahuja gained 46 Elo points in the just-concluded National B Chess Championships in Haryana.

Rohan scored 7 points out of 13 rounds.In this tournament Rohan beat Gil Ford Thangkhiew 2003 of Meghalaya, Biswajeet Chatterjee 2079 of Jharkhand, Pahlira 1985 of Mizoram and Parmar Mehendra 1985 of Gujarat and drew with Vasudevan C 1991 and Sudhirsana Singh 1942 of Manipur. Niraj Saripalli scored 6 points and gained 8 Elo rating points.

GCA’s selection trials for senior girls

PANAJI: The Goa Cricket Association (GCA) will conduct selection trials for senior girls on 3rd October. The selection trials will be conducted at GCA Academy, indoor nets, Porvorim at 10.30 am. Players have been asked to report to coaches Collin Rodrigues and Anuradha Redkar.

Fr Xavier Paiva memorial 3-a-side tie-breaker

PANAJI: United Club of Old Goa will organise the 20th Fr Xavier Paiva memorial 3-a-side tie-breaker tournament at Old Goa on 2nd October at Panchayat grounds, near Old Goa Educational School from 10 am. Entries may be sent to Sanjay Café and SFX Electricals, Old Goa.
