King’s school holds football clinic with S Korean team

PANAJI: The King’s school held a football clinic on their football field at Sao Jose de Areal with the Ansan Hallelujah Football Club of South Korea, recently during the club’s visit to Goa.
The South Korean footballers performed a dance for the students at the school assembly.

The under 12, under 14 and under 17 girls and boys football teams as well as the Child Care School girls and boys football team were then given special training by the excellent South Korean players and coaches. They were taught warming exercises, while focusing on agility and flexibility skills. They learnt new techniques and how to maintain their stamina for an entire game.
They were also taught essential soft skills. The students benefited greatly from the expertise of this international team.
The exposure and the stamina and skills of the team inspired the students. The team was very friendly and intermingled with the students a lot.
The next event was a friendly football match between the Ansan Hallelujah Football Club and the U-17 boys of The King’s School at the Chowgule College field. The students got a firsthand opportunity to understand and learn team work and leadership skills, and also to try out the new techniques they had learnt earlier in the day.
The school football teams along with the school chairman and six school sports coaches were also taken in school buses to the Sunday evening floodlit football match in Vasco where the Ansan team played.
The Ansan Hallelujah football team received The King’s School gold medals as a token of appreciation, and the school was given a memento and an autographed football from the team at The Night with the Soccer Stars at Pilar, on January 25. The exposure to this international team was an invaluable time for Child Care School & The King’s School football teams.
