PANAJI: Calling their fourth national championship win as “amazing”, Dempo SC coach Armando Colaco hailed his boys for the achievement.

“It’s amazing. Just one word can describe it,” Colaco said of their I-League win. “It’s my players who have brought this trophy to Dempo. They are the best.”
The coach, who is now the most successful in the country, credited the team’s successful run to their boss, Mr Shrinivas Dempo. “If you ask me what’s the reason behind the success of this team, I will say we had no pressure. There was never any pressure on me. Our chairman never asked: ‘Armando, what is this?’ He never interfered. He only inspired. The players too were never pressurised for anything. We have a wonderful management here and it brings the best out of us.”
Colaco also credited Mr Dempo for shaping his career as a coach. “If I am a successful coach today, then it is because of Mr Shrinivas Dempo. He inspired me to give my best as a coach. He constantly pushed me to pursue higher goals, and I am really grateful to him for having faith in my abilities.”
Praising his wards, Colaco said the victory was made possible by his hardworking team. “This win was only possible because of these players. They are truly the best in the country.”
