MARGAO: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has confirmed the inter-state transfer of 20 football players after the respective association has provided the clearance for the transfers.
Prominent footballers whose transfer has been cleared in the ‘list one’ released by the AIFF includes international goalkeeper Subhashish Roy Chowdhury from the disbanded Mahindra United to Dempo Sports Club. Godwin Franco of Pune FC and left wing back Debabrata Roy of Mahindra United also signed for Dempo while Churchill Brothers roped in Mahindra United’s right back Denzil Franco. Among the notable foreigners who changed clubs are Ikene Ekenwa from Salgaocar Sports Club to East Bengal while another Nigerian player Keke Ibrahim of Vasco Sports Club has signed for JCT Mills Phagwara.
Meanwhile, Pune FC which finished third in the I-League have bolstered their midfield by recruiting the services of N Ajayan and Paresh Shivalkar from Mahindra United.
According to sources Kamaljeet Singh, the left wing back of Mumbai FC, has signed for Pune FC but Derrick Pereira’s side lost the services of Nigerian stopper Chika Wali to Chirag United and defender Rahul Kumar to Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan.
The transfer window opens in June and ends on August 31, 2010.
