Goa Learning Soccer School coaching camp kicks off

PANAJI: The Goa Learning Soccer School coaching camp commenced on Friday at Saraswat School, Khorlim, Mapusa. The 20-day camp was aimed at improving the football skills of the participants. The training was conducted by English FA qualified football coach Aldrid Da’Costa.

A match was played between the youngsters, which included Saraswat pupils and also neighbouring schools of various faiths and backgrounds.
Saraswat High School principal Mr Sanjiv Dharwadkar handed out the certificates and gave the closing speech. He highlighted the benefits of the state’s new sports policy and also stressed on the students being all-rounded individuals on and off the sports field. Head of sports at Saraswat College Jayesh Churi expressed his plans to take Saraswat school forward in their centenary year and is concentrating at the grass roots level. Also present were physical education teachers Jayendra Nagvenkar and Vinod Bilgoji.
