Goa to face Chandigarh

MAPUSA: Goa will have a tough task on hand when they take on the might of Chandigarh to decide the champions of the 66th National School Games U-19 (boys) football being played at Jammu.

Goa secured their finals berth after a tense 4-2 win via tie-breaker over Uttar Pradesh in the semi-finals. Goalkeeper Marshall Fernandes was the hero for the Goan outfit as he saved two spot-kicks from the opposition. The scorer for Goa were Agnelo Fernandes, Rakesh Kumar, Mazar Ali and Newton D’Sousa.

Goa will face off Chandigarh tomorrow, who themselves got the better of Punjab by a solitary goal in the semis.
