PANAJI: Espanyol, Panjim defeated Young of Fatorda 4-3 in the finals of All-Goa Joga competition organised by Don Bosco Oratory in association with SpaceKraft Media Solutions at Don Bosco’s Oratory, here.
Dario Rodrigues and Neon D’souza Espanyol scored two goals each for Espanyol while Milagres Madeira and Santan Colaco scored two and one goal respectively for Young of Fatorda. A total of 64 teams participated in the competition.
Joga, a Portuguese word which means keep playing is a sporting event which is played between two teams consisting of four players each. The rules have been adopted from futsal with a few modifications, said Mr Dennis Figueiredo of SpaceKraft Media Solutions.
Earlier, Espanyol beat St Ika 3-1 while Young of Fatorda beat Striking Vipers 3-1to enter the finals. Dario Rodrigues scored 10 goals to be the top scorer.
Milagres Madeira from Young of Fatorda was adjudged best player of the tournament.
