PANAJI: Goa Diocesan Priests football team (juniors) defeated Holy Spirit Parish Ward Youth 5-3 to win the Margao Feast celebrations football stars match held at Holy Spirit Church grounds recently.

The match ended in a 2-2 deadlock at the end of regulation time with Fr Valentine Alvares and Hayston Fernandes scoring a brace each for their respective teams. In the penalty shootout applied to break the deadlock, Fr Valentine, Deacon Jaison Vaz, Fr Milagres Dias scored for the junior soccer team of Goa Diocesan Priests while only Domingos Rodrigues found the nets for Holy Spirit Parish Ward Youth team. Fr Milagres Dias saved the penalty shots by Hayston Fernandes and Hazlitt Fernandes to give his team the victory.
