PANAJI: Diljeet Velingkar and Alisha Alfonso lifted the men’s and women’s singles crown respectively at the All-Goa BPS Open Major Ranking Table Tennis tournament conducted at BPS Sports Club Hall, Margao on Saturday.

Results: Mini cadets – girls: Tanisi Kirtani bt Abigale Faria Cunha 11-5, 11-2, 11-8. Mini cadets – boys: Wesley do Rosario bt Varun Gangodkar 11-3, 11-3, 11-3. Cadets – girls: Urmila Mense bt Tanisi Kirtani 6-11, 11-5, 11-5, 11-9. Cadets – boys: Wesley do Rosario bt Abner Fari Cunha 11-4, 11-9, 11-8. Sub –junior girls: Urmila Mense bt Laxmi Shetye 11-6, 11-7, 11-6. Sub-junior boys: Tejas Shevde bt Krishal Peres de Silva 11-6, 11-7, 11-6. Junior girls: Devika Sood bt Eleanor do Rosario 11-6, 6-11, 11-9, 4-11, 11-8. Junior boys: Tejas Shevde bt Krishal Pere de Silva 11-7, 13-11, 11-7. Women’s singles: Alisha Alfonso bt Nyssa Alvares 11-8, 11-4, 11-7. Men’s singles: Diljeet Velingkar bt Agnelo Naik 11-8, 10-12, 12-10, 11-6, 11-8.

Mr Francisco Sardinha, MP (South Goa) was the chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony. Mr Audhut Kare, president of BPS Sports Club welcomed the gathering while Mr Santosh George, secretary of BPS Sports Club, proposed the vote of thanks.

Mr Ashok Mhambrey, secretary of Goa Table Tennis Association, was the chief referee for
the tournament.
