Players of Carmona SC and Davorlim SC vie for the ball in the Alvernaz & Lalush Alemao soccer tie at Varca grounds, on Wednesday.
PANAJI: Davorlim Sporting Club beat fancied Carmona SC 1-0 in all Goa 3rd Alvernaz & Lalush Alemao memorial football tournament, organised by Churchill Brothers SC, Varca at Varca grounds.
The all- important goal was scored by Roosevet Gomes in the 50th minute of the second half. Wenson Figueiredo was named the man of the match.
In another match, Sao Jose de Areal shocked Navelim Villagers Union 6-5 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals. Alvito Colaco scored in the first half for Navelim while Fredrick Endro equalised in the dying minutes of the match. The score was 1-1 during the full time. In the tie-breaker, Mariano Fernandes, Lawry Travasso, Caetano Fernandes, Fredrick Endro and Xavier Endro converted for Sao Jose de Areal while Navelim shot in through Alvito Colaco, Domnic Cabral, Mario Fernandes nad Chandrakant Naik.
