PANAJI: Damodar College, Margao pipped Fr Agnel Ashram, Verna 4-3 via the penalty shootout to win the SSIMS football tournament held at Chowgule College grounds, Margao.

GVM’s College, Ponda bagged the third position after beating Government College, Quepem in the play-off of semi-finals losers.

Mr Vijai Sardesai, general secretary, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee was the chief guest for the valedictory function and presented the trophy to the champions. He also felicitated Charles Fernandes of Govt College, Quepem who was adjudged as the player of the tournament for scoring a hat-trick. Fernandes also received the Golden Boot award. Certificates and medals were presented to the winners and runners-up.
