PANAJI: Da Cruz, Mala defeated Piety Sports Club, Navelim 25-19, 19-25, 25-18, 25-13, to claim the trophy and a cash prize of Rs 15,000 at 1st All Goa volleyball tournament organised by Young Boys of Talaulim.

Piety Sports Club had to settle for Rs 10,000 and a runners-up trophy. Other prizes: Best smasher of finals - Pawar of Da Cruz Mala, Best lifter of finals - Abbu of Piety Sports Club, Best defender of finals - Manohar of Da Cruz Mala, Best smasher of the tournament - Pappu of Piety Sports Club. PWD Minister, Mr Churchill Alemao was the chief guest for the prize giving function.
