PANAJI: Cuncolim Union defeated St Anthony’s Club Colva 2-0 in the third match of the 14th Holy Cross soccer tournament, organised by Holy Cross Sports Club, Kakoda.

Both sides started aggressively but as the game progressed, Colva looked to be in good control and dominated ball possession. Cuncolim defenders were kept on their toes by the Colva strikers, but they missed many opportunities which came their way. But against the run of play, Cuncolim took the lead through Ryan Colaco in the 31st minute. Ryan got into a good position and scored through a
brilliant strike.
In the second half, Cuncolim were good with ball possession and with a one-goal advantage, also looked a more confident side. On the other hand, Colva struggled with their defence and in the 49th minute, Jerenomio Fernandes consolidated to make it 2-0
for Cuncolim.
Colva had more chances to score but could not change the scoreline as Cuncolim earned a handsome win. Astrofio Pinto of Cuncolim was penalised for foul play by the official.
