Churchill Bros, Chirag United gain full points

VASCO: Churchill Brothers Sports Club and Chirag United Sports Club collected full points, defeating Viva Kerala 4-0 and Sesa Football Academy 1-0, respectively in the 32nd Federation Cup 2010. Both the matches were played at Tilak Stadium in Vasco on Tuesday.

In the first match of the day, Chirag United retained the 1-0 lead which they had received in the 19th minute till the end of the regulation time. Chirag went into the lead in the 19th minute when Denson Devadas slammed in accepting a cross pass from Jerry Zirsanga.
After this setback Rakshak Naik, Inacio Colaco, Jayganesh Goltekar and Gagandeep Singh raided the Chirag area but were unsuccessful when in the box.
An Inacio Colaco, Rakshak Naik, Jayganesh Goltekar move saw the last named delaying to kick with Somnath Khara, the Chirag keeper out of position in the 40th minute.
After the change of ends, a move by M D Rafique saw Jerry Zirsanga’s shot being cleared up by Gagandeep Singh before any damage could be done in the 55th minute.
Two minutes later, Rakshak Naik missed to tap the ball into the open goal. In the 80th minute, Jayganesh Goltekar could have reduced the margin, but he blasted over.
Chirag’s forwards Josimar Da Silva Martins and Denson Devadas were sandwiched by the Sesa defenders Gagandeep Singh, Nicolau Colaco and Shishuram C in their attempts to penetrate the Sesa area. In the second match, Churchill Brothers Sports Club drubbed Viva Kerala 4-0 after leading 1-0 at the breather from a goal scored by opportunistic Koko Sakibo in the 39th minute.
After change of ends, referee S Bhathena pointed to the dreaded spot as Bello Rasaq tripped Odafe Onyeka Okolie in the box and the penalty-kick was converted by Odafe  to increase the lead in the 58th minute.
Seven minutes later, a free-kick taken by Odafe zoomed into the nets past bewildered Shahinlal Meloly, the keeper of Viva Kerala.
In the 75th minute, Charan Rai rolled the ball to Koko Sakibo who dribbled past Charles Dzisah, the defender of Viva Kerala and square passed it further to Rouhollah Samieinia who completed the tally for Churchill Brothers Sports Club.
Viva Kerala lads made stray raids through their forward led by K Kulthangan, Karma T, Anil Kumar P K and Charles Dzisah but the Churchill defence was too tough to penetrate.
Referee S Bhathena flashed caution card to Charan Rai and Koko Sakibo of Churchill Brothers Sports Club and Charles Dzisah, Sajin D and Rahul P of Viva Kerala.
Meanwhile, Viva Kerala will meet Chirag United Sports Club in a match to be held at Tilak Stadium, Vasco at 2 pm on September 23, while Churchill Brothers Sports Club will fight against Sesa Football Academy later in the evening on the same day.
