MAPUSA: Candolim Sports Club set up a clash with Nagoa Sports Club in the finals of the 6th Rajasthan Marbles Trophy after an impressive 3-0 win over SAI Avtar, Anjuna.

In the semis of the tournament organised by Saligao United and played at Dr Gustavo Monteiro grounds on Friday, Candolim went into the break with a one-goal lead which came in the very 5th minute of play after Francisco Rebello got hold of the ball from Roy Dias and blasted it into the SAI Avtar nets.

On the change of ends, the Candolim pumped in two more goals. In the 50th minute Joelif Simoes saw his adroit placement bulge the Anjuna nets while minutes later Cliber D’Souza made the issue safe for the winners. Anjuna’s feared strikers Rajesh Shirodkar and Joseph Noronha failed to come to their side’s rescue as they were tightly marked throughout
the match.
