PANAJI: Candolim Sports Club scored a comfortable 2-0 win over Penha de Franca Sports Club to enter the quarter-finals of 17th Pilerne Panchayat Cup inter-village soccer tournament, organized by Pilerne Sports Club,  played at Maddanim grounds, Pilerne.

Francis Rebello scored both the goals for Candolim, scoring once on either side of the break in the 30th and 60th minute. In another match, Saligao United scored a facile 4-1 win over United Club Nerul. Saligao  led first  through Christopher D’Souza.  Nerul restored parity through the boots of John Vaz.
Martin Fernandes (54th ), Pravin Jadev (60th) and Nester Dias (65th ) put the match beyond the reach of Nerul.
