MAPUSA: St Dominic Savio’s Sports Club, Calvim came back strongly in the second session to hold Friends XI Sports Club, Vaddem to a 3-3 draw and share a point in the GFA’s 3rd Division League at Quitula grounds, on Friday.
Vaddem enjoyed the upper hand for a major part of the first session and opened the scoring in the 14th minute through Dwayne Ticlo. Dattaram Bhoji then made it 2-0 in favour of Calvim when he scored in the 35th minute.
Calvim looked down and out, however, two minutes into the second half Sachin Chopdeker reduced the deficit to spur Calvim.
After much probing, Calvim levelled the issue in the 77th minute, off the boots of Nitin Gadeker.
The Vaddem side looked shocked and fell a goal behind in the 81st minute, as Nitin was tripped inside the danger zone and Sachin made no mistake in handing Calvim the lead for the first time in the match.
But, Calvim’s joy was cut short as Vaddem’s nippy striker Dwayne once again found his name on the scoresheet, to hand Vaddem a point.
