PANAJI: Betalbatim Sports Club entered the finals of late 16th Muriel Faleiro football tournament beating Wilfred Leisure, Curtorim 4-1 via tie-breaker after they tied 2-2 in the full time. After a barren first half, Betalbatim’s Desmond Fernandes scored the first goal of the match and soon Dickson Rogtao joined the party making it 2-0 in Betalbatim’s favour.

Agitated by the 2-0 deficit, Wilfred Leisure began playing aggressively and were able to reduce the deficit by a goal through Savio Fernandes and later Peter Pereira’s goal helped them level the score 2-2. In the tie-breaker, Desmond Fernandes, Caji D’Souza, Allwick Fernandes and Denzil Ragtao scored for Betalbatim but for Wilfred Leisure except Savio Fernandes rest shot wide. Betalbatim will meet Parish Youth Nuvem in the finals.
