BCCI promised GCA ODI in 2013: Phadke

PANAJI: Goa has been promised a one-day international in 2013 by BCCI president Mr N Srinivasan, but the details of which match would be allotted to GCA is yet to be confirmed, stated GCA president, Mr Vinod Phadke on Thursday.

With the chief minister Mr Manohar Parrikar stating on Wednesday that no one has approached him for lease of Fatorda stadium to host Indo-Pak cricket match in February next year, Mr Phadke in reaction to the CM’s statement said: “It is too early to speak on which match GCA would be allotted. However, during the recent BCCI AGM, president Srinivasan had promised Goa a one-day match in 2013,” Mr Phadke told The Navhind Times.
When asked whether the ODI promised to GCA in 2013 had the potential of clashing with Lusofonia Games preparation, as Nehru stadium is one of the central venue for the event, Mr Phadke said: “I don’t think the one-day match would clash with Lusofonia Games.”
