PANAJI: A fine show by Arun Mohite (34 and 1-23) enabled Borda RCC beat MCC by 7 wickets in the Late Shubham Naik (U-17) trophy here at SAG grounds, Margao on Monday.
Electing to bat, MCC RCC were bowled out for 116 in 35 overs. Only Yogesh Chawan (33) batted well for MCC. Ravi Dudhani (3-19), Jagan Khandeparker (3-20), Nikhil Kamat (2-12) and Varad Dabholkar (1-5) bowled well for Borda.
A 77-run partnership between Mohite and Gaurav Naik (30) set up the base but 3 quick wickets raised an outside chance of a collapse but Varad Dabholkar(15 n.o) and Shaheen Surlakar (16 n.o) put paid to any such eventuality by finishing the match in style. Ashirvad Naik (2-37) bowled well for MCC.
