PANAJI: Dempo Sports Club head coach and secretary, Mr Armando Colaco has praised India’s Saina Nehwal for her tremendous effort in winning three international badminton titles, including the Singapore Open and the Indonesian Open Super Series titles, in the last three weeks.

"Saina has done the country proud and she deserves all the success in the future and I am certain she is well on her way to becoming World No 1," Armando, India’s most successful coach at club level in football, informed ‘The Navhind Times’ on Tuesday while offering his reactions to Saina’s gold medal-winning feat.

"I salute this young sportswoman. Saina has achieved something tremendous considering that she’s just 20 and I praise her feat simply because she has the will power and determination to attain what she has been able to at a very young age,"
Armando continued.

"Only those who are into sports can understand the value of such a sporting achievement and what sportspersons are capable of achieving," Armando said in Saina’s praise.

"Saina is an example and a role model for the modern generation. I am sure it was her mental toughness that has kept her afloat in international badminton and judging by her on-court performances, it seems she is hungry for more. May God bless her," Armando maintained.
