All-Goa Municipal Council cricket tourney on Saturday

PANAJI: The councillors of Corporation of the City of Panaji will organise their 1st all Goa Municipal Council cricket tournament at Panaji Gymkhana ground on Saturday, May 29.

The chairman of the organising committee, Mr Uday Madkaikar informed that the tournament will have the participation of total 14 teams, which will include one team from each of the 13 municipalities across the state and one team of Panaji Corporation.
This one-day tournament will be played on knock-out basis with matches of 8 overs per side. The winners of the tournament will be awarded with a rolling trophy. Other prizes will include trophy for runners-up, man of the series, best batsman, best bowler and man of the match for each match.
Each municipality is allowed to field its team with minimum four councillors along with their other staff members, Mr Madkaikar informed further. The tournament will begin at 9.30 a.m. and the finals will be held at 5.00 p.m.
