Sporting Clube trounce Sesa FA 9-1



Sporting Clube de Goa trounced Sesa Football Academy 9-1 in GFA Taca Goa U-20 League at Don Bosco ground, Panaji on Monday.

A brace from Kiran Choukashi and a goal each by  Nevile Albuquerque, Jarmanjit Singh, Souvik Das, Quan Gomes, Ganesh Thakur, Joseph Costa and an own helped the flaming orange trash sesa while Latesh Mandrekar scored a consolation for the losers

Sporting Goa started the match on the front foot and opened their account the first five minutes when Neville Albuquerque headed home Souvik Das’ cross giving no chance for the rival keeper.

Sporting Goa did not allow their opponents to settle and soon doubled the lead with Sesa’s defenders turning down the ball of Mauvin Borges cross into his own net.

Just before the break, Sporting Goa scored their third through Jarmanjit Singh’s bullet header of Ganesh Thakur’s cross.

Sesa pulled a goal back through Latesh Mandrekar which set up interesting second half. Sporting Goa led 3-1 at the breather.

Post resumption, Sporting Goa continued from where they had left and continued to dominate with Souvik Das tapping in a cross to make it 4-1 to the Flaming Oranje.

The energetic Kiran Choukashi then helped himself to a brace to further swell the lead for Sporting Goa.

Sporting Goa’s Quan Gomes somehow managed to score from a tight angle s as he amazingly curled the ball into the top corner and moments later Ganesh Thakur made it eight.

In the dying minutes Sporting Goa’s Joseph Costa added the final nail in the coffin as he thumped in to make it 9-1.
