Spate of thefts: police verify mobile call records

PANAJI: Goa police has verified vast data of mobile call records, while additional police force has been deployed after the patrolling was intensified owing to the recent spate of thefts and a dacoity.

“There is no clue as yet. We have verified as much as 25,000 mobile data in the area and have intensified night patrolling in both the districts. For each district 100 policemen have been deputed for this purpose”, said IGP Sunil Garg

“Rs 25,000 cash reward has been declared to whoever provides information related to the Davorlim dacoity” he said.

He said, “The concerned police inspectors have also been asked to perform night duties in their respective jurisdiction for 5 days in a week.”

Few days back nine masked dacoits armed with deadly weapons barged into a Davorlim-based bungalow of a lecturer and robbed gold ornaments, cash and left with two vehicles (Car and two-wheeler). One of the vehicle’s (Car) was later traced by the police.
