VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics celebrated its annual awards day function.
Chief guest at the function was chairman of CII Goa Council, Lalit Saraswat. Other dignitaries present included president of Vidya Vikas Mandal, Sheela HN Gaunekar; treasurer of Vidya Vikas Mandal, UN Bene; and director Women and Child Development, Deepali Naik among others.
In her address president of VVM, Sheela Gaunekar appreciated the hard work of students and teachers and congratulated prize winners.
The annual report was presented by principal, Prita Mallya. She congratulated the teachers and students and highlighted the various achievements of the college. Faculty achievements, activities of the IQAC, research cell, NSS, NCC (army), NCC (navy), career cell, placement cell, entrepreneurship cell, institution innovation council, mentoring cell, faculty development cell and recreation cell were also presented.
Speaking at the function Saraswat stated that the industry landscape is growing faster than the education sector and students should go beyond the curriculum in order to fulfil the industrial skill requirements.
Saraswat presented trophies and certificates those who brought laurels to the institution in academics, sports, cultural activities, NCC and NSS. He also inaugurated the Skill Development Centre and Incubation Centre set up under the centrally sponsored RUSA scheme.
