Saraswat Vidyalaya take 26-run lead

Sarswat Vidyalaya took a lead of 26 runs over GS Amonkar Vidhyamandir as they ended their first day at 107/5 in the U-14 Boys President’s Cup 2019 inter school tournament Bardez zone on Wednesday.

Batting first GS Amonkar Vidhyamandir put up a poor batting show and their innings folded for just 81 runs. Sarthak Bhike was the highest scorer for his team with just 19 runs. Dinesh Audi was followed him managing to make only 16 runs. The highlight of Saraswat Vidhyalaya’s bowling were Varad Karmalkar and Kanakdarsh Thali who were impressive as they picked three wickets each, giving away only 18 and 19 runs respectively.

Coming into bat, Saraswat Vidyalaya put a better show than GS Amonkar Vidhyamandir, as they ended their day at 107/5 in 63 overs.

Kanakdarsh Thali, who had taken three wickets in bowling spell, was also the high scorer for his team, making a caution 27 runs after facing 116 deliveries.  Sadanand Naik of GS Amonkar Vidhyamandir picked up 4 wickets giving away only 19 runs.
