Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana, an RSS affiliated organisation has conceptualised a biennial film festival, and the inauguration of the third edition of this film festival is just three months away.
The Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana has been created to promote RSS ideology through films, television and media, and to bring in a feeling of patriotism in the youth of the country.
Atul Gangwar, who is in-charge of a promotional stall of the particular film festival, set up at the Film Bazaar and running on the sidelines of the ongoing International Film Festival of India 2019 told NT BUZZ that the third edition of the Chitra Bharati Film Festival organised by Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana will be held at Ahmedabad from February 21 to February 23, 2020.
“It is a festival of short films, documentaries, animation films and campus films, and is based on the themes of Indian culture and values, constructive work, Indian family, social harmony, folk arts, water-trees-cleanliness, women, national security, valour, nationhood, etc,” Gangwar informed, adding that the inaugural edition of this film festival was organised in Indore, in 2016, while the second edition took place in Delhi, in 2018.
The RSS-backed film festival is competitive in nature with awards. Cash prizes will be given in various categories including Best Film and Best Director, in three groups: general, professional students of cinema and non-professional students of cinema. The best film will receive a cash prize of rupees one lakh.
Speaking further, Gangwar stated that film personalities like Subhash Ghai, Hema Malini, Madhur Bhandarkar, Priyadarshan, Arjun Rampal, Smriti Irani, and S S Rajamouli are supporters of this film festival.
He also informed that the festival films are subsequently screened in smaller towns around the country with the assistance of local film societies, affiliated to the Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana.
