Ronaldo Oliveira was on a song and as he sang , Salgaocar Football club merrily danced round Panjim Footballers and left them mauled with an easy 6-0 win over Panjim Footballers in the Goa Football Association(GFA) Professional League match played at Duler stadium on Monday.
Salgaocar FC are now on 41 points from 18 games and still in pursuit of the GPL title pursuit of the title while Panjim Footballers finished their campaign, second from last position with fifteen points.
The winners led 1-0 at the break.
Salgaocar FC took the lead through U-18 prodigy Ribhav Sardessai in the 24th minute with a long range shot which gave no chance to the Panjim Footballers goalkeeper Sherwin.
Despite the goal by Ribhav, Salgaocar found it difficult to get past Panjim goalkeeper Sherwin in the first session and the lads from Vasco had to wait for the start of the second half to unleash their scoring venom on Panjim Footballers. Ronaldo oliveira started scoring in the second half and once he started, there was no looking back.
Salgaocar FC increased their tally in the 58th minute through Ronaldo Oliveira who scored with a fine solo effort and Panjim footballers appeared to lose pursuit of scoring afterwards.
Salgaocar scored their third goal in the 70th minute when Devendra set up Ronaldo for his second of the evening.
Smelling a chance of scoring a hat-trick, Ronaldo on being fed by Selwyn, let go an angular shot that brooked no response from the Panjim Footballers goalkeeper.
Salgaocar scored two more goals late in the game through Devendra Murgaonkar and Josbon.
