The hot-mix carpeted roads in the Bicholim Municipal Council (BMC) jurisdiction, which were washed away due to the heavy rains that lashed the area for the last 2 months, are being ‘temporarily’ repaired.

The potholes on the road at Vhadali were filled up on Sunday by the BMC after its attention was drawn to it by Bicholim block Congress committee and Yuva Congress, Bicholim.

Meanwhile, a memorandum pertaining to the road repairs has been submitted to the PWD by the delegation, which included president of BBCC Nazir Beig, Youth Congress president Manoj Naik, Shrirang Parab, Niteen Parab, Umesh Chari and Sheikh Intehaz.

The delegation has demanded urgent repairs to the highway stretch from KTC bus stand to Bordem.

The Bicholim block Congress committee office bearers has alleged that the BMC hurriedly carried out the hot-mix carpeting of the internal roads before the onset of monsoon, and so, the quality of work could not be maintained.

In the meantime, Congress party workers called on PWD road section engineer and submitted a memorandum to him demanding repairs to highway road stretches at Muslimwada, KTC by-pass, Bordem to Vhalshi- Mulgaon.
