Refuting Allegations Of Bhagwat

In a religious meet ‘Dharam Sansad’ called by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Prayagraj, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has accused the democratically elected government in Kerala alleging that it is persecuting the devotees of Lord Ayyappa at the Sabarimala shrine exceeding the judicial mandate. This is a wild accusation since the Kerala government is only implementing the ruling of the Supreme Court, which has lifted the ban on the entry of menstruating women in the temple, upholding the right to equality irrespective of gender and age groups. We would like to remind all such leaders to learn and respect the law instead of selectively attacking the government. He has further said that there are many moves to divide the Hindu society. This charge is absolutely unfounded for the LDF government has done nothing to divide the Hindu community. I would rather say that implementation of the court verdict would bring together even the discriminated women thereby uniting the Hindu fold. It is worth stressing here that if there is any dissension in Hindu community it is of its own doing. Since ages the deeply rooted caste system has put the different groups at loggerheads with each other, so much so that unable to face the oppressions many people were forced to embrace Islam or Christianity, as they made no distinction within their fold. It is fitting to state that even today these prejudices persist within Hinduism leading to unrest, discontentment and division. We would want the RSS boss to recollect that he had said on the eve of the last Assembly elections in Bihar that the reservations on caste basis should be eliminated, and notably BJP had to pay the price for it. How keen is the Hindu community in eradicating the caste system and treating all at par?
