RBI conference on sexual harassment of women

Sexual harassment is currently the topic in the world with the Me Too movement fresh in the minds of people. In a bid to shed light on the scourge of harassment faced by women, the Reserve Bank of India (Panaji regional office) organised a half day conference on prevention of sexual harassment of women at workplace. The conference held on November 30, had Nanda Dave, chief general manager-in-charge, inspection department, RBI, as the chief guest. The conference  discussed the laws on sexual harassment, such as the Vishaka guidelines and The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. The conference was attended by senior bankers. There was a panel discussion on the same subject moderated by Dave and C Subash, deputy legal adviser, RBI, Dr Sabina Martins, founder, Bailancho Sad, Kamakshi Pai, general manager in-charge, NABARD and Prashant Naik, zonal manager, Bank of India, as participants.
