The annual prize distribution ceremony of Shri Nirakar Vidyalaya Mashem, Canacona was held on February 21, 2015.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest of the function Raju Nayak, editor of Lokmat , highlighted the need of building leadership qualities among students. Appreciating the school for its innovative activities, he further stated that parents need not migrate to cities when good quality education is imparted in the village itself. The guest of honour, executive engineer of electricity department, Canacona, also an ex-student of the school, Santosh Lolyekar evoked old memories of school days in his speech and congratulated the school for its progress.
Prizes for academics, cultural and sports activities were given at the hands of the guest. Sahil Shet bagged the Best Nirakarian award of the year 2014-15. Monginis trophy for Multiple Intelligence was awarded to Abha Phaldesai and Vibhav Prabhugaonkar was declared the Whiz-Kid of the year. Omkar Sudir received the green lover award. Prashant Naik, the chairman of the school also appreciated the efforts put in by the staff members. Hemant Kamat, the headmaster of the school delivered the welcome address. Nilesh Prabhudesai , Poonam Bandekar and Santosh Tawadkar announced the prize winners, while Deepa Fernandes presented the annual school report. The programme was compered by Urvee Phaldesai and the vote of thanks was proposed by Deepali Loliyekar.
