Pilot vehicle police not to go with CM during electioneering

The Goa police department has instructed the police personnel of the pilot vehicle of the Chief Minister not to accompany him during
electioneering.

Sources said that the matter was brought to the notice of the higher police officials regarding pilot vehicle of the Chief Minster reportedly seen accompanying the Chief Minister during campaigning thus violating the model code of conduct.

As per information, as part of the security measures, the pilot vehicle leads the convoy of the Chief Minister whereas there are two escort vehicles for security purposes.

A police official said that during the model code of conduct, the pilot vehicle should not accompany the Chief Minster during campaigning whereas there are no restrictions on the escort vehicles.

When contacted, Bosco George, SP security, said, “The staff (on pilot vehicle) has been already informed that the pilot vehicle should not go with the Chief Minister during campaigning except for any official purposes, failing which necessary action will be initiated against the police personnel.”

He said instructions have been also issued to police personnel on escort vehicles accompanying Deputy Chief Ministers not to use the escort vehicles as pilot vehicles.

According to information, there is one escort vehicle for Deputy Chief Minster.
