PANAJI: Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has promised to resolve the issue of security guards within the next 3 months, revealed their leader Ajitsingh Rane.
Addressing the media on Saturday afternoon, Rane said that it was decided at a special meeting convened by the Chief Minister, the trade Union leader and MLA Naresh Sawal.
The three Independent MLAs Rohan Khaunte, Vijay Sardessai and Naresh Sawal along with the Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco took initiative to resolve the issue and held a meeting with the Chief Minister. Rane said that the Chief Minister gave oral assurance and agreed to resolve the issue.
“We believe in him and have full faith in him. But, the security guards will continue with their dharna at the Azad Maidan,” he said.
“We have decided to end the fast since we have faith in him, but we will carry on with dharna since he did not give anything in writing,’’ he said.
Sawal urged the Chief Minister to take a decision and end the imbroglio once and for all. “If the nagging problem is not resolved within the next three months then we (Independent MLAs) again will raise the issue in the forthcoming monsoon session,” he said.
