Department of computer science, VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics organised an orientation programme for parents. Present on the occasion were first vice president, Vidya Vikas Mandal, Nitin Kunkolienker; principal, Prita Mallya and vice principal, Sanjay Dessai.
The orientation programme was organised in order to share information related to curriculum, extra-curricular activities, facilities and resources available. This is an effort to bridge the communication gap between parents, teachers and students. Parents and teachers play an instrumental role in mentoring and monitoring students.
Principal, Prita Mallya welcomed the gathering and briefed the audience about the college, its campus, facilities and also mentioned that the college was the first to introduce BCA programme in the State.
In his address Nitin Kunkolienker assured that he would procure the best mentor from the IT industry to guide faculty and students so as to equip them with latest trends in the industry.
Programme co-ordinator, Ekta Agarwal shared highlights of BCA programme and further briefed parents regarding infrastructure, library and other facilities available.
Parents witnessed a demonstration of the campus management software that would give them access to information like attendance, examination, timetable, events, etc. They were informed that regular SMS and e-mail alerts would be sent to them. There was an interactive session wherein parents shared their views, suggestions and also raised queries.
