US New Page on Pak

Then it comes to dropping bombs in ‘enemy territory’ the former US President Mr George Bush comes across as ‘button happy’.

A new book released in the US reveals that the Bush administration had prepared a secret retribution plan to bomb 150 terror camps in Pakistan if a major terrorist attack were to be launched against the US from that country. There are many in India who might want that to happen because of the ‘pestilential torment’ of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. India has been screaming itself hoarse that Pakistan is the fountainhead of terrorism, but to Islamabad’s good luck it also happens to be an ‘ally’ in Washington’s war against terror in Afghanistan; also, the US is too busy securing its own shores to bother about India’s suffering and security. Another interesting revelation is that the ISI chief Lt General Ahmed Suja Pasha had admitted to the CIA that the 26/11 strike in Mumbai was not an authorized operation but orchestrated by rogue elements in the spy agency. India has collected sufficient evidence to prove that the attack on Mumbai in November 2008 was approved and directed by the ISI. The revelation in the book is heartening because it tells us that the US is finally coming around to the truth that most terror routes originate in Pakistan. Pakistan itself is facing the brunt of its misguided policy of using terrorism to forward its strategic goals. It is time Islamabad had a change of heart, if not for India, for its own sake.
