The Goa Technology Association (GTA) completed a year recently with more than 80 of its members getting together to celebrate the first anniversary. The event, an action packed affair with speeches and panel discussion, was attended by several high-profile guests including Rohan Khaunte, IT minister, Ameya Abhyankar, secretary IT and KC Ayyagari, startup program manager, Google.
Members discussed the activities of the association during the year and approved the annual accounts. In his welcome address, Mangirish Salelkar, president, GTA , shared his vision of GTAs path for the year ahead, while . . Nitin Kunkoliienkar, president, MAIT, who is on GTAs advisory board gave his suggestion on how GTA should be a catalysts to scale up the local IT industry.
A vibrant and interactive panel discussion moderated by Jevis Pereira and attended by Girish Bharne, Ricky Noronha, Vincnent Toscano, Vijay Thomas, Sangeeta Naik, Devdas debated over Goa’s IT ecosystem then and now. In his talk to members, Ayyagari spoke on how Google can support startups in the state.
Milind Prabhu, vice president, presented the vote of thanks. The annual report of the association was presented by Sujeet Shetty, secretary, while Cicero Silva, treasurer, briefed members on the audited accounts of the association.
