Celebrating 100 years on Rotary in India, the Rotary Club of Mapuca organised the Rotary Run 2020 which saw the participation of runners from across Goa. 350 runners in total participated in the ten-kilometre, five-kilometre and three-kilometre races.

Students, amateur and professional runners and senior citizens participated in the races which began at the Bodgeshwar temple.

In the men’s category of the ten-kilometre race, the first place was won by Pradyum Naik; the second place was won by Sunit Pandey while the third place was won by Narendra Taigully. In the women’s category of the ten-kilometre race, the first place was won by Swezial D’Souza ; the second place was won by Chetali Bhandari while the third place was won by Sheerja Gad.

The Rotary district governor, Girish Masurkar, Dilip Salgaonkar and joint secretary of Goa Athletic Association, Akhil Parrikar flagged off the races in the presence of rotary president Amol Barve, Rotaract president Janardhan. 

The pacers for the ten-kilometre run, Sujan Naik, Sardar Nadaf and Tejas Senari were felicitated on the occasion along with the referees from Goa Athletic Association. The races were preceded by a Zumba session conducted by Wilma from Dance Fitness and The Playce. The Rotary Run 2020 event was a charity fundraiser and was coordinated by Siddhesh Kotkar, Aniket Shennai, Ashish Samant.
