‘Offended’ Cong workers burn effigy of Rishi Kapoor

Congress workers from Vasco constituency on Saturday staged a protest and burnt an effigy of the veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor over his alleged tweets against Gandhi family.
The protest was held at Mangor-Hill where several party workers participated and burnt the effigy of the actor. Speaking to media, Congress leader and Mormugao municipal councillor Saifullah Khan said that the comments tweeted by Kapoor were irresponsible. “The Gandhi family has sacrificed their lives for the nation and has made the country proud,” he said.
“The veteran Bollywood actor Kapoor has tweeted against the Gandhi family without giving any thought,” stated Khan and further added that several institutions, airports, central schemes, stadiums, sanctuaries, scholarships, awards, tournaments, buses, roads and even road crossings have been named after members of the Nehru-Gandhi family.
It may be recalled that Kapoor had twitted expressing his anger over naming several organisations and places in India after the members of the Gandhi-Nehru family.
