Nitol Goa initiative by local Oriyas

Volunteers from the All Goa Odisha Association recently took up cleaning of the approach road and premises of the Jagannath Temple at Bandora, Ponda. Volunteers gathered waste and cleaned the area of rubbish. Plastic waste and green waste were separated and properly disposed. The initiative was in support of the special cleanliness drive call given by the government.

Lord Jagannath is the supreme deity of Odisha and Goa’s Oriya community were instrumental in setting up the first Jagannath temple in the state. The temple is perhaps the first green temple in the state as it has a solar unit installed at the rooftop.
