Youth Congress vows to fight issues affecting common man

MAPUSA: The North Goa district youth Congress has vowed to fight for issues that were affecting the common man in North Goa. The president of the committee, Mr Jitesh Kamat, has said that Mr Sankalp Amonkar, the state youth president has assured him all help to solve these issues.

Speaking to the press, Mr Kamat has said that issues such as anti-plastic drive, water scarcity, traffic jams, parking problems were discussed at the meeting that was held under the guidance of Mr Amonkar, and it was felt that these issues needed to be tackled amicably.

Regretting that some people were responsible for creating water scarcity in Mapusa, Mr Kamat felt that steps needed to be taken to differentiate between the use and misuse of water and accordingly the issue could be solved.

The vice-president, Mr Felly Gomes expressed anger against some private buses, the conductors and drivers of which are undisciplined. He said these buses are driven in a rash and negligent manner. He further said that the drivers compete on the roads against each other and this leads to a lot of danger for the passengers as well as the other road users and the pedestrians.

The secretary, Mr Chandan Mandrekar said that some privately run hospitals were disposing their medical waste in an unhygienic manner and said that the Health Minister would be petitioned about this. The committee also congratulated Mr Rajmohan Shetye for securing the Nehru Yuva Kendra award.
