Vasco BJP launches signature campaign against price rise

VASCO: The Vasco Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday launched a signature campaign against increasing prices of essential commodities during a public meeting convened in this regard, at New Vaddem bus stand, Vasco.

The BJP workers created awareness among the people on the anti-policies adopted by the Congress-led central and state governments and also the unabated corruption in the present government.
Explaining about the seven demands put forward by the BJP to the President, Ms Pratibha Patil, the BJP spokesperson, Mr Arlekar said that all ration card holders including APL card holders should be provided adequate quantity of wheat, rice, sugar, pulses and edible oil at reasonable rates through PDS and adequate food grain stock should be made available in the retail markets to control price rise.
Mr Arlekar came down heavily on the Congress-led government at the Centre and state and said that the government has failed on all fronts and has also failed in providing security to the common man.
Mr Narendra Savoikar and Mr Jayant Jadhav criticised the civil supplies and consumers affairs department for its failure in keeping a check on distribution of rice and wheat.  
The former state unit president of BJP and spokesperson, Mr Rajendra Arlekar, Mr Narendra Savoikar, Mr Jayant Jadhav, Mr Digambar Amonkar, Vasco BJP president, Mr Deepak Naik, Vasco BJP youth president, Mr Prashant Narvekar, Mr Anil Chodankar, Ms Pallavi Shirodkar, Mr Ketan Thakker, Mr Tulsidas Nanu and other workers of the party were present.
