Speaker orders tight security at secretariat

 PANAJI: The Speaker of the Goa legislative assembly, Mr Pratapsing Rane has ordered that strict security arrangements be made during the budget session to be held from March 22.

Stating that the central agencies have informed the state legislatures that strict measures be adopted to prevent any attack on the legislatures, Mr Rane further directed the secretariat staff that they should ensure deployment of additional security personnel.
The Speaker further said that no person (other than the legislators) should be allowed to carry any bag inside the assembly complex and that all cars and persons entering the assembly should be subjected to thorough security checks at all entry points.
Accordingly, all the security personnel of the assembly and the police would be directed to maintain extra vigil to prevent any attack. Besides, dog squad would be pressed for scouting the assembly complex for any “unwanted” or suspicious objects.
