PERNEM: The Summer Camp Committee of the Government College of Arts and Commerce, Virnoda, Pernem, organised its fourth 10-day summer camp for the students of the neighbouring schools, as a part of their extra-mural activities. Dr Gervasio S F L Mendes, acting principal, Government College, Pernem, welcomed the gathering.
Mr Pandurang Parab, president NGZP, who was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony urged the participants to develop and achieve success.
Sessions on Team Building, Aerobics, Sports, Introduction to Internet, Good Citizenship, Public Speaking, Folk Dance, Photography, Snakes and Eco System, Handwriting Skills, Theatre Art and Health and Hygiene were conducted for the participants.
Mr Marlow Lawrence, Mr Sam Braganza, Mr Harichandra Mandrekar, Fr Lester D’Silva, Dr Gervasio S F L Mendes, Mr Ladu Parwar, Mr Willy Goes, Mr Amrut Singh, Mr Nagesh Gosavi, Mr Pramod Mahadeshwar and Dr Gauri Gauns shared their expertise and experiences with the students.
A field trip was held to Hira Farm, Ozarim, Pernem, where the students were briefed by Mr Rupesh Kalagutkar, the manager of the farm on various aspects of nature.
Besides, the students were given hands-on training in Card Making and Rangoli by Ms Asmita Salgaonkar and Ms Deepti Pednekar respectively. The Marathi film, Mi Shivaji Raje Bhosale Bolatoy was also screened during the camp.
Certificates were distributed to the participating students at the hands of Dr Gauri Gauns, who was the chief guest at the valedictory function.
