PANAJI: The Panaji police on Saturday informed that they have registered a non-cognisable case against Israeli drug dealer, Yaniv Behahim alias Atala now in judicial custody, for abusing a press photographer, Mr Kailash L Naik.

According to the information provided by police, the photographer has in his complaint stated that when he tried to click a photograph of Atala at a STD booth near National Theatre, he used foul language against him.
It is learnt that Atala had requested the judicial lock up authorities on Friday that he would like to contact his family and that he be permitted to call them on phone. Accordingly he was taken to the said STD booth accompanied by a police escort when the incident took place.
Sources said that there have been directions from the court that in case any person in judicial custody wanted to contact his family they could be allowed and accordingly Atala was allowed to make the call.
