MAPUSA: A 39-year-old Nigerian national one Monday Felix Otedo was arrested early Saturday morning by the Calangute police for being in illegal possession of drugs including cocaine and MDMA worth around Rs 25 lakh.

According to the Calangute police, they were tipped off by a reliable source that the accused along with a drug consignment would be coming at Naikawaddo, Calangute at around midnight on Friday to deliver the same to some prospective customers.
Accordingly a police team led by PI Mr Nolasco Raposo and other police constables laid a trap at 10.30 p.m. at Naikawaddo. At around 3.30 a.m. on Saturday, the police team found a suspicious person moving with some items. The accused was then immediately nabbed and after enquiries it was revealed that the person had in his possession 465 grams of cocaine worth around Rs 23.25 lakh, 45 grams of MDMA worth around Rs 90,000, some electronic weights, cash worth around Rs 1.1 lakh, 50 Euros, 300 US dollars, a mobile phone and a passport all valued at around Rs 25, 33,200. This has been one of the biggest seizure of its kind at Calangute in recent days. Further police investigations in the case are in progress.
