PANAJI: The establishment section of the directorate of technical education has issued an order as regards streamlining the maintenance of reservation roster by various institutes and corporations under its administrative control.
The order signed by the DoTE director, Mr Vivek Kamat states that the reservation roster of equivalent non-gazetted posts of government-aided institutions and corporations under the administrative control of the directorate of technical education is to be maintained by respective heads of institutions/corporation and submitted to the directorate for verification, with onward submission to the directorate of social welfare.
“It is observed that the government-aided polytechnics have not maintained the reservation roster as per norms/ guidelines issued in this regard from time to time and the authorities have taken a note of the above,” the order says, pointing out that now, therefore, approval of the government is hereby conveyed for maintenance of reservation roster of equivalent non-gazetted posts of government-aided institutions and corporations under administrative control of the DoTE and not by respective heads of institutions/corporations.
Meanwhile, the directorate of technical education has received altogether 332 applications for the Goa Common Entrance Test-2 to be held on May 14, for providing direct admissions to the pharmacy and engineering diploma students to second year of the degree course of respective fields. The examination will be conducted at Panaji and Margao centres. The GCET-2 examination will have only one paper of 100 marks. There exist 74 seats for direct admission to the second year of various engineering degree courses in the state, while there are 10 such seats for second year degree course in pharmacy.
