PANAJI: Mr Gajendra Haldia, the advisor to the deputy chairman of the Planning Commission, Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia on Thursday visited the sites for Mopa airport project and National Games in Pernem taluka and made various suggestions to the state officials on how to go about the projects.
The central government official was on a day’s visit to the state to acquaint himself with the progress made by the state on two nationally important projects. He was also given a briefing on the requirement for a separate mining corridor.
The Chief Minister, Mr Digambar Kamat told The Navhind Times that a detailed presentation was given by the state officials to Mr Haldia, who evinced keen interest in the projects. He also said a presentation on mining corridor was also given to the advisor to Dr Ahluwalia. The Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary, Mr Sanjay Kumar Shrivastava, and other secretaries were present during the presentation.
Mr Haldia reviewed the progress of all the projects being executed or planned under public-private partnership in the state and appreciated the manner in which they were being executed.
Meanwhile, the officials in the state administration informed that after visiting the National Games site Mr Haldia found that the land acquired was less and directed that more land be acquired for setting up the facilities for holding the games. He also told the officials to acquire land to connect two plots where games would be held and which do have connectivity.
