The highly popular Ninja 300 is now available in upgraded version and open for bookings, reports Serilda Coutinho
Ninja bike lovers will not have to shell out a bomb anymore to own one of the best selling of sport bikes. The latest upgrade of the Ninja 300 is cheaper by about 15 per cent adding to the allure of the brand.
The bike is currently open for bookings at all Kawasaki dealerships and sources at Anzen Kawasaki, Chicalim, said that, news of the upgrade is already creating a buzz due to the significant drop in price.
“The model with its upgraded safety features has dropped down by around Rs 70000 as it is locally assembled at the company’s unit in Pune. It gives bikers the affordability factor that they have been looking for” said Avdumber Hede, manager, Anzen Kawasaki.
The Ninja 300 is priced at Rs 3.8 lakh (on-road, Goa) as against its previous price of about Rs 4.6 lakh. It will be on display at the showroom by mid-August and expected to be available for sale from September, in time for the festive season of Ganesh Chaturthi. The upgraded Ninja will be in blue and green colours.
Apart from the pricing another feature that is expected to attract riders is the front and rear anti-lock braking system (ABS) that will help the model compete with other safety equipped bikes. The ABS adheres to the government’s new norm that makes it mandatory for all bikes to have ABS by April 2019.
“Considering the overall sales of Kawasaki bikes, the Ninja 300 is one of our best selling product since its launch in the market” said Hede. He added that the 300cc sporty bike was already safe for Indian roads considering the features fitted in the earlier model. “The introduction of ABS is just an add-on safety feature,” explained Hede.
As a part of Kawasaki’s expansion plans in India the new Ninja 300 also gets locally produced parts. It also comes equipped with a liquid-cooled strong parallel twin cylinder, dual overhead camshafts and 8 valves engine like other models in the series. Apart from these features the bike also stands out for its new high-tensile steel frame that adds to the chassis stability and the assist and slipper clutch, based on racing technology.
Speaking in terms of the brands stylish appearance, the design is directly related to bigger Ninja supersport models. Discerning riders can easily attribute the features of aggressive styling and dual headlights similar to the Ninja ZX-10R and wheel design that resembles the ZX-14R.
According to Kawasaki Motors, Ninja prices have decreased because of localizing production as a part of the company’s expansion plan in India. Localization gives the benefit of competitive price because of which the company can offer new customers an opportunity to enjoy a brand and also start experiencing the fun of super sports riding.
In order to give early birds add on benefit customers opting for pre-booking will be given three years of unlimited mileage warranty offer as an add on benefit. This offer is valid till stock lasts.
