Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R launched at an introductory price of Rs 10.5 lakh in Goa, reports Team B&C
Kawasaki has launched the Ninja ZX-6R in the 600 cc super sport segment recently. Claiming to offer an affordable pricing in higher transmission and targeted at youngsters eager to upgrade to light weight speedy bikes, the latest Ninja model is likely to get a good response.
“The bike was launched in mid- December but as the prices were not revealed at that point riders were hesitant to place a booking,” says Avdumber Hede, manager, Anzen Kawasaki, Chicalim. He adds that, the bike being offered at an introductory price of Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom India). Since the launch of the showroom as already received 24 inquires. Post the introductory offer, the price of the bike is expected to be around Rs 13 lakh (on road).
According to Hede the ZX-6R placed in between the 300cc and 1000cc bikes and is perfect for riders looking for something that is suitable for city rides as well experimenting on the race tracks.
“Goan riders know exactly what features and specifications they want when it comes to buying a bike. With the prices now revealed we expect the response towards booking to improve,” he said.
Coming to the engine specifications of the Ninja ZX-6R, it has a 636cc inline-four motor engine that offers 70.8Nm peak torque at 11,000 rpm and 130 PS of peak power. Giving the bike a sporty feel on road is the six-speed transmission that comes with a quick shifter for hassle free gear shift. In terms of the riding aids, it gets 3-stage traction control, ABS and two power modes.
According to Kawasaki Motors India, the ZX-6R has done remarkably well in world racing competitions. It not only had good number of pole positions, but also won the championship twice in last four years.
Customers who pre-booked the bike are likely to start getting deliveries from February 2019 onwards. “The bike will not be available for test rides but is expected to arrive in the showroom for display by February- end,” informed Hede. He said that, the delivery is expected to take a month or longer depending on the number of bookings the dealership receives. Booking are already open at the Anzen Kawasaki in Chicalim.
